Anyone can post a debatable statement (a topic with an Affirmative and Negative side) and write arguments for or against it. Vote arguments up or down — the strongest float to the top.

If an argument runs long, the AI offers to summarise it to the debate’s word limit or split it into separate points. A high-performing argument can be promoted into its own full debate. Everything passes AI moderation before it’s published.

Teams are your squads or classes. An org admin creates a team and can appoint a team admin (coach). Coaches invite members by email; members accept an invite to join. Most coaching features below are scoped to a team.

Formal team-vs-team debates on a motion, run asynchronously. Each side’s coach sets a speaking order; speakers alternate Affirmative → Negative. A speaker accepts their turn (which reveals earlier speeches and starts their timer), then submits a speech as text or a voice recording. Miss the timer and the turn is forfeited so nothing stalls.

When the last speech lands, the AI Judge drafts a verdict (see below), and everyone can open the Judge’s Box and Flow tools on that debate.

When a debate completes, an AI adjudicator scores every speech on six competencies — reasoning, evidence, rebuttal, organization, delivery, clash — picks a winner, and writes an adjudication plus private coaching notes per speaker. It’s a draft only the adjudicator sees; they edit anything they disagree with and publish. Only then do debaters see the result — and each speaker sees their own private feedback card.

Open My Flow on any live or completed team debate. Guided mode is a “Their Arguments vs Our Responses” grid keyed to speech turns — a row with no response turns red once your side has spoken past it, flagging a dropped point. Blank slate mode is a free-form pad once you’ve outgrown the scaffolding. Your flow is private; your coach can review it and leave a diagnosis.

Practise judging: open Enter the Judge’s Box on a completed debate, score every speech, name the winning issue, and write a Reason for Decision — blind. After you submit, your ballot is revealed side-by-side with the official adjudication, with per-score deltas, so you learn what judges actually reward. One ballot per debate.

A coach posts an anonymous flawed argument to a team. The class tags each sentence live as Claim, Warrant, Impact, or Fallacy, then collaboratively rewrites it in a shared draft alongside the colour-coded original. On completion you see the before/after side-by-side and an AI coach reviews what the rewrite fixed.

A coach pairs two students who disagree. Each writes an argument — and the opponent’s rebuttal box stays locked until they paraphrase that argument to the author’s satisfaction. The author approves the summary or sends it back with feedback. It cures the straw-man habit by forcing genuine steel-manning before any rebuttal.

Build a personal, searchable arsenal of reusable rebuttal blocks tagged by topic and argument type, with sources. A block goes stale after 60 days without an evidence refresh. Insert a block straight into a guided flow mid-round from the “📚 Insert from library” button. Coaches can grade each block 0–10 for quality and sourcing.

A coach imports a round’s audio as several files, attaching a speaker (a team member or a typed name) to each. Each clip is transcribed to text, and every reviewer can leave comments on a clip; coaches can correct a transcript. The team is emailed once a recording finishes transcribing. Recordings are visible only to the team, its coaches, and adjudicators.

Your profile carries a radar chart over the six competencies, with per-competency averages, your strongest and weakest skill, and a prescribed drill for the weakest. It’s fed only by coach-verified activity: published verdicts, workshop fallacy-spotting, approved steel-mans, flow coverage, Judge’s Box accuracy, and graded rebuttal blocks. It grows the more you train.
